Property descriptionA wonderful suffolk holiday cottage in an idyllic setting for a very relaxing holiday.
Admiral Cottage is a typical Suffolk holiday cottage full of character and has many original features including exposed beams and stripped wood floors throughout. The cottage was completely refurbished & redecorated in 2007 and is furnished and equipped to a high standard.
There are 2 bedrooms (a double and a twin) which can accommodate 4 adults, with a sofa bed and cot also available. The holiday cottage in Suffolk can be booked in conjunction with Waterloo House and Nelson Studio to accommodate 10 - 12 adults (plus 2 on sofa bed).
This lovely, cosy cottage is situated close to the picturesque Suffolk coast in the small, quiet hamlet of Blaxhall. Adjoining Waterloo House, it enables you to truly "get away from it all, but still have the convenience of Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge and Southwold within easy driving distance. Bird watchers in particular will enjoy the local countryside and the close proximity to Minsmere and Orfordness. With lots of good quality pubs & restaurants in the local vicinity - there are plenty of places to relax.

Reception RoomThe front door opens into a warm, inviting reception room with ample room for muddy boots, walking shoes & coats. This room is great for relaxing or playing one of the board games provided. It is also a brilliant spot to watch the sun rise or set across the surrounding countryside. A sofa bed suitable for an adult or child is available in this room.
From here, you walk through to the open plan kitchen/living area.
Sitting RoomThe sitting room has a colour TV, DVD, video, CD player, radio and plenty of local information for you to peruse. The wide-ranging DVD library has something to cater for most tastes. The cottage has full central heating, 365 days a year with individually controlled time clock and thermostat, to suit your own requirements. This room is furnished to make you feel as relaxed as at home. The settees are the perfect place to relax, unwind and cuddle up in front of the log burner.
KitchenThe kitchen is well equipped and is fitted with an oven, microwave, electric hob, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washer / dryer. There is a full range of matching kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery to make cooking an easy and enjoyable part of your holiday. Cleaning materials, washing-up liquid and tea towels are also supplied.
PatioFrom the kitchen, French doors open onto the enclosed private patio, which is ideal for eating out whenever it is sunny.
2 Bedrooms and bathroomThe bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Admiral Cottage is over 200 years old, and the stairs are steep, which unfortunately makes it unsuitable for the infirm.
The comfortable bedrooms are beautifully co-ordinated with quality furnishings, blinds and curtains as appropriate, bedside lights and crisp bed linen.
There is a large double bedroom and a second bedroom, which has twin beds. Both bedrooms have original oak beams and stripped floors. We pride ourselves on the comfortable new beds and have had a stream of visitors comment on how they realise they need to buy new beds when they return home.
A modern bathroom including a powerful shower and nice new towels completes the upstairs.
SurroundingsThe cottage shares the large front garden with Waterloo House, which was the old village shop. There is lots of grass for the children to play on and the garden to the front overlooks turf fields.
ParkingParking for one car is available at the front of the cottage. There is ample parking at the rear of the cottage for additional cars.
Children/BabiesChildren are welcome at any age. A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are all provided free of charge in the cottage (please bring your own cot linen).
Tourist InformationTourist information brochures, leaflets and guide books are provided in the cottage. There is also an information pack with instructions for all machines, information on local shops, pubs, restaurants and recreation providers, as well as the addresses of local doctors, dentists and hospitals.
